Guest Speaker Information
Welcome to the Wine Association Dionysus! We’re thrilled that you’re interested in becoming a guest speaker for our association. To help you understand our processes and provide clarity on the expectations, we've created this guide specifically for our new or potential guest speakers.
About guestspeaking
With board Biesbroek (2024-2025), we have introduced a structured format for our tastings. This format is designed to enhance clarity for speakers and ensure a high-quality experience for our members. While we encourage creativity and innovation in your presentation, we appreciate adherence to our general structure, which you can find

The following is stated in the format:
- Reasoning for Using a Format: An explanation of why we have implemented this structure.
- What We’re Looking For in a Guest Speaker: Insights into the qualities and topics we’re interested in.
- Our Role: A breakdown of what the association will do before, during, and after the tasting.
- Tasting Layout and Quantity: Details on the organization of the event, including the number of wines to be tasted.
Key details for your Tasting
- Location: The tastings are held in the Wine Room at NHL Stenden in Leeuwarden, unless otherwise discussed.
- Timing & Date: Tastings generally occur every two weeks on Tuesday evenings in accordance with NHL Stenden's academic calendar. The doors open for walk-in at 18:45, with the event starting promptly at 19:00.
- Group Size: The Wine Room accommodates +/- 40 attendees, which is also our average size of attendance. We can adjust the group limit if that better suits your needs. Our group consists of both Dutch and international students, so please note that English is our main language of communication.
- Wine Budget & Compensation Compensation and budget for each board year may vary. For specific details regarding this aspect, please reach out to the Wine Officer.
- Photography & Social Media: We promote each tasting and its theme through social media. We typically prepare a title in advance and create posts to engage our members. If you have a specific title and an appealing photo in mind, please share those with us. Throughout the tasting, photographs will be taken and shared on our website and various social media platforms.
